Etna 2 accelerograph education

On Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Dr. Edelvays Spassov from Kinemetrics, Inc. held an education about the Etna 2 accelerograph to the employees of the Seismological Survey.

The Etna 2 accelerograph is a seismological instrument that records ground acceleration during strong earthquakes. In the territory of the Republic of Croatia, 20 such devices are currently installed as part of the mobile network of seismological stations, in the areas of recent seismological activities, which were acquired thanks to donations from the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Science and Education.

In addition to Etna 2, the CROSSNET Project will also install a broadband MBB-2 seismometer, a combined MBB-2 and SM borehole sensor – Omnisensor, and a new Quanterra Q8 data digitizer, for which additional training will be provided soon.

We thank Dr. Spassov for the interesting lecture and useful discussions, and we look forward to future cooperation.
